EXILE

December 1st 2006 – March 1st 2007

After one year with exhibitions, 1,681,920 visitors and intervention in public life in front of Steno Pharmacy and SAS Radisson Hotel Royal at Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen, CPH Kunsthal (art hall) was removed together with the other six exhibition cases. The decision was taken without further thoughts into the architectural importance of the cases for city space. Unfortunately, the preservation plan from the Copenhagen Town Planning Department came too late. The exhibition cases had to be removed for practical and financial reasons!

But the exhibition cases were saved by Director Kurt Finsten from Krabbesholm Højskole in Skive in co-operation with CPH Kunsthal. With the assistance of Krabbesholm Højskole, the exhibition cases are now in safe exile at Krabbesholm in Skive (Jutland). The cases arrived October 31st from the capital and have started a new life with exhibitions in the provinces.

It is with great pleasure that we with CPH Kunsthal and the other six exhibition cases open a selected, retrospective exhibition of former projects made for the CPH Kunsthal as well as a new art project.
