STUDYTRIP AMSTERDAM
01.10.14 Art | Among other things we went to the Rijks Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, on a gallery tour around the Jordaan area, the Van Gogh Museum, FOAM (the photography museum), we also visited the studio of Isfrid Angard Siljehug, a norweigan artist.

01.10.14 Graphic Design | This Autumn we went to Switserland. A new choice of destination. The highlights were a visit to the famous art school ECAL, studio visits to NORM, Afrika and Bon-bon and several visits to museums.

Moment

01.10.14 Architecture | From a still frame of a corridor, the assignment was to imagine the surrounding space, how the spacial sequence and light accurs according to the clue the picture reveals.

Concrete

01.10.14 Design | Concrete is a construction material made of cement, stone and sand. Contrete does not dry, it hardens. It is of good use for construction as well as for making form being cheap and durable. It can also easily be coloured and given texture and structure.

Tower for a birdwatcher

The tower had to be a part of a self chosen context that had to reflect in the architecture.

01.09.14 Graphic Design | In working with silkscreen irregularities and small mistakes become gifts helping to create an aesthetic alternative to those provided by the computer. It is an opportunity to test your patience with hands covered in paint.

"HØjskole student sensationally takes 1st Prize" …

16.12.13 design | This is how the press release came out after this years FSC-competition, that is held every year amongst the schools of design and architecture in Denmark. This year Krabbesholm student, Adam Holst Hoffbeck, won the competition with a hanging wardrobe and among the 9 runner-ups was also another 4 of our students with the design of a bicycle carrier by Amalie Zahle, Karoline Heide Christensen, Vi Khan Thi Dang and Julie Park Hughes.

16.12.13 Graphic Design | The English alphabet has 26 letters but 1picture can say more than 1000 words. During the week we will work freely with words and images from a collection of dictionaries. The goal is to generate content to be compiled into our own dictionary by the end of the week. Phenomenons of Light

16.12.13 Design | Lighting designer Naija Nygård came to stay one week to focus on various phenomenens og light and transform them into a number of lamps made in paper or similar materials. The week was full of platting, folding, embossing as well as courses in light sources and the right way to connect socket to cord and light source.

23.06.13 Photography | This spring the photography class made the exhibition ’Five and a Half Hours’ at VESS Gallery on Vesterbro in Copenhagen. The students exhibited both images from own projects and assignments and also showed the common project ’Focal’ – a magazine photographed and layouted by the students.

Textile Workshop

23.06.13 Design | Furniture textile rarely stands alone but are usually seen in context with other elements. The construction is therefore an important part of the expression of a textile product and may be exactly what expresses the particular quailty of the textile.

Reykjavik spring 2013

23.06.13 Graphic Design | In Iceland nature is large and impressive.
Reykjavik is a relatively small but it contains in concentrate everything that a capital should.
Here graphic design exists on its own terms. With a wide range of visits to different graphic designers we experienced that everybody seemed very professional even though they belonged to a small community.

19.03.13 Design | Designproducts are often presented in "families" as part of series. Think of dinnerware, clothes collections or brands of cars. They have an overall idea that comes forth differently in the individual pieces.

TEXT

19.03.13 Art | For this project the students were asked to use only text, words or alphabetical signs as both material and subject matter in the artistic expression. The choice of medium was free. The text had to be found, and could, for instance, be a quote from a film, a poem or an extract from a letter. What was important was that the text meant something for the individual student, and that the choice of medium made sense in relation to the text.

19.03.13 Photography | A series of pictures can work together in many different ways, it can be a colourtone, the story, lightning, the look, concept, it doesn`t have to have a logic connection, the pictures can supply each other with moods and so on, something has to bind them together.

19.03.13 Design | In the beginning of March we took a deep dive into the sea. The occasion was partying, so all sails and 350 m of fibertex were set. Loads of work paid off and made a magnificent party.

19.03.13 Photography | With an automatic writing exercise, where you had to write continuously for 30 minutes, as a starting point, the students each made a personal project.

Conceptual Type Workshop

19.03.13 Graphic Design | The students were assigned to pick their favorite piece of clothing, and describe the aesthetic characteristics they found appealing about it, with five words. From here they were to sketch and digitalize a conceptual alphabet.

ANALOGUE VJ’ING
07.02.13 Graphic Design | One of the first assignments for the graphic design class was to create a party in one of the new buildings on campus. The starting point was analog visuals recorded with a video camera inspired by a psychedelic universe.

20.03.12 Design | Seating furniture from prefabricated materials from the local hardware stores in Skive. The students was allowed to use any materials available in a hardware store. Besides the ”raw” materials no styling was allowed; no paint, no ornamentation.
