23.05.17 Literature | The Literature students were on a reading tour. We started out in Literaturhaus in Copenhagen. The program included the 13 students, writer Ida Holmegaard, writer/artist Amalie Smith and the Nikolaj Zeuthen and Oliver Hoiness from Skammens Vogn who made a so called spiritual show with cartoons and music. The next day the students exhibited their visual works in the artist run gallery "SØ" in Copenhagen NV.
IDA MARIE HEDE
23.05.17 Literature | The literature students had Ida Marie Hede as a guest teacher. We worked with deform bodies, sexual fantasies, transgression, shame, another language for genitals and genital secretions written in new literary genres such as the menu, the family tree, fanfiction and bad poetry.
10.04.17 Art | We had a week long painting workshop for more or less novice painters. The course was relatively autonomous and the students could choose between 10-12 different ideas. Or have their own.
Theory - From concept to concrete
10.04.17 Architecture | A week where groups were working with selected architects working methods, ideas and iconic buildings. Finally were held presentations about their homes and carried out a principle cuts - in concrete - narrative so special about the selected architect method.
10.04.17 Design | Textiles for interiors are usually used as a material for upholstery. This project asks you to think differently and to find new ways of using the material. Textiles can be said to be a 2-dimensional material, only when in use with other elements or materials you may create a 3-dimensional and sensuous object.
10.04.17 Literature | The literature class worked with texts that usually are printed on the backside of dust-sleeves and created a series of fake-book, including design, titel, a quote from the book, fiktive reviews from newspapers – without writing the actual book.
10.04.17 Graphic Design | Here we show a mix of different assignments form a period with room for students to work with their individual projects. For some this regarded entrance tests for different schools, for others more individual tasks taking different turns.
A site specific book project
09.03.17 Graphic Design | A site represented by text, photographs and illustrations unfolded in a layout of 16 pages as a booklet. The book represents a framework that can be used as a stage for the dissemination of how a particular place can be sensed a described.
09.03.17 Literature | This week the literature course examined the symbolism and narratives of tattoos. The students tell stories about the personal, the cliché and the souvenir through a photographic series using tattoo-foil on skin.
09.03.17 Art | We worked mainly in plaster and casted in borrowed silicone moulds, natural shells and other potentiel spaces. The week was one long dialogue between maker, material and surrounding space ...
OBJECT, SURFACE, DECORATION
09.03.17 Design | Design have been examining the relationship between object, form and surface and a given option to work with decoration.
09.03.17 Architecture | Four selected chapters from Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities’ was processed by the students through a variety of architectural forms of representation; plan, axonometry, model, section.

Space for a conversation
19.02.17 Architecture | This week the student investigated the idea of a conversation as a spatial and cultural phenomenon.
01.02.17 Literature | The literature class worked with literary self-portraits this week. The students came up with own methods and materials to describe themselves.
Stools in fir and felt
01.02.17 Design | The designstudents have experimented with the combination of sticks of fir and colored felt to produce a stool. The project also introduces to working in the modelshop as well as the textile workshop, examining complex joints or basic applications of felt.
01.02.17 Art | The art students worked with ‘the political’ in the medium of the collage. We discussed the artists’ political role in society and how one can work with meaning in different perspectives, from the direct and concrete message to an ambivalent and poetic ambiguous message.
01.02.17 Graphic Design | We upload visual comments relating to news stories from the world outside Krabbesholm. A new semester has begun. The new students in graphic design are practising. How to get new, fast ideas and make them visual.
KRABBESHOLM THE FONT
Typeface | Pick up Krabbesholm Højskole's new typeface 'Krabbesholm' – now also in the Mono version – designed by Radim Peško and Tomáš Celizna. The designers have visited Krabbesholm several times to do research and arrange workshops for the Graphic Design students. The new typeface is simple, beautiful and practical – very krabbesholm-like.

TWO WRITERS SHARE THE SCHADE AWARD 2016
Ursula Reuter Christiansen and Kasper Hesselbjerg were elected as the first winners of The Schade Award 2016.
03.12.16 Art | The artclass had a show in Copenhagen at gallery SØ in November. The concept had been decided by the art teachers Gisa Pantel and Cecilie Skov. The show was based on an examination of and inspiration from the internet phenomenon “Spooky Pasta”, which in short, is the existence of more or less selfgenerating “urban myths” about the uncanny and scary. Build on that concept, the class worked together in the construction of a sculptural installation.
Weaving and embroidery
03.12.16 Design | We spent a week working with needles, thread, yarn and the like within two different disciplines: weaving and embroidery.They belong the traditional needlework crafts and we tried them off in new and different varieties.
EXHIBITION AND BOOK RELEASE
03.12.16 Graphic Design | In contemporary design education the teacher often compose an assignment, and the student is asked to respond with a solution, project, or product. In the process that happens between the brief and the solution, learning takes place. But, all questions are charged with meaning, and every assignment contains its own ideas of what design education is and what it should be. Do you agree with the question you’re asked?
03.12.16 Design | White and coloured polypropylene canvas, tracing paper, thin metal sheets, threaded rods, piano wire, sockets etc. were the materials given for designing a lamp. The assignment was given to the design class by designers Borg&Bruckner and presented at Gallery VESS at Vesterbro, Cph on a Friday afternoon in November.

23.11-30.11 2016 Exhibition Four Boxes | The starting point for the exhibition is the masterplan BIG Blue Skive 2040, which world renowned Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group has develop for the town. The highly ambitious vision was gifted to Skive by SPAR VEST FONDEN last year and has since then provoked some debate.
The Way Things Do
19.11.16 Art | How can an object change through its context and display? How are objects mediated in and outside of the museum? What happens when a thing is re-represented outside of its familiar context?
These were some of the questions that were asked when artist Karen Bohøj was teaching the art course.

10.11.16 Literature | Visual artist Ursula Nistrup and writer Ida Marie Hede visited Krabbesholm Writing Course for four days. The workshop focused on how to approach text as a material in relation to other materials, and thereby challenge both - as well as create new imaginative knowledge from and through the perception of the material.

15.10.16 Graphic Design | It is rare that it is possible to find exhibitions about graphic design, but at the Biennale in Brno there are even more of its kind. We were quite thorough in our examination of the exhibits and the posters above reflects a rather deliberate use of inspiration from a favorite feature. The idea was to copy a main concept from a designer and use it on this text: Road Trip Dessau Leipzig Brno.
How is life on Mars, now or in a distant future?
15.10.16 Architecture | During a 1 week workshop the architecture class of Krabbesholm Højskole 2016 worked with ’Visions from Mars’.
In working with landscape, futuristic cities, Mars-housing, studies of light and experience from simulations of spacemissions they describe their visions for inhabitating the red planet.
STUDY TRIP MARSEILLE
15.10.16 Architecture | This autumn we went on a study trip to Marseille. We had a jolly week with loads of architecture and pleasure. We visited Le Corbusiers Unité d’Habitation, building transformations and new projects along the harbour, the School of Architecture, and went to the local beach every evening.
Gitte LÆgÅrd: Sculptural Collages
14/09/16-21/09/16 Four Boxes | As it’s title indicates, the exhibition consists of a number of sculptures in which Gitte Lægård combines construction materials, textile design techniques and fine art visual language. In the seven pieces on show she examines the meeting of analogue and digital print methods on various material supports.
Pentool and Satire
01.09.16 Graphic Design | Another way of using a computer than the everyday facebook-like could be to use the pentool in illustrator. As an attempt to make it a little more fun we have worked with fresh headlines from the news and processed them visually in a satirical way.
01.09.16 Literature | Pop music is an artistic form, that has simplicity as it's core principle, that brings emotions to the surface and that is inherently invasive - it is the popular music, the one you listen to on the radio, in the mall, at a party and in the teenage bedroom when your girlfriend just left.
01.09.16 Design | Stools made out of wooden sheet material, made with simple joints and they hold more functions.

Berlin study trip
14.06.16 Kunst | This term the Art/Photo class went to Berlin for our study trip abroad. We visited artists, saw big shows in the institutions and art spaces around town and ofcourse visited a great deal of galleries. We also had time to explore the city and just being together and having a cosy and pleasant time together. All in all a perfect trip to one of the art capitals of the world.

30/04/16-16/05/16 | Four Boxes at Krabbesholm Højskole is proud to present ‘Vibrant Matter’, s solo exhibition by Pettersen & Hein. The exhibition, which borrows its title from Jane Bennett’s book ‘Vibrant Matter: A Political Ecology of Things’, comprises a series of new works created especially for Four Boxes’ large, bright spaces.

10.05.16 Art | The artist collective Lehman Brothers was in this week guest teachers at art/photogrphy. They gave the students the assignment that every student should make art as were they someone else.

10.05.16 Art | This week the students at Art / Photo were given the assignment to make a site specific work of art on the island of Fur.
Place, ‘Architecton’, Link
10.05.16 Architecture | In April the guest teachers Vitus and Leonora from KADK visited. The assignment asked the students on the basis of spatial terms register architectural conditions which later were to be explored through textual exercises. Hereafter the material was to be further developed into ‘architectons’ cast in plaster and explored for spatial potentials.
10.05.16 Design | A bride dressed in black has been a common thing until the late 1800, - a bride in white is a fairly recent phenomenon. But what happens if you revive the idea of the black bridal dress?
10.05.16 Design | We had a workshop for knife-making for 4 days. The students had the choice between actually going through the steps in an ordinary designproces or going straight in the workshop building something.
An AccÉnt iN the Forest
10.05.16 Design | The students were asked to make some sort af statement along the walking-paths in Krabbesholm forest. The “statement” should be directed at the users of the forest, people going for a walk, joggers etc.
10.05.16 Graphic Design | It takes time to reach the perfect result in the screenprint workshop. It is a skill you have to achieve. Therefore this week has been open for experimenting.
10.04.16 Graphic Design | With starting point in Lars von Triers 'The Idiots' the students designed posters for the movie. They then reworded the dogma rules to suit graphic design og from there designed posters with a free subject.

10.04.16 Design | Textile designer Astrid Skibsted Holm has been working with the design-class by winding, twining and weaving and researching the abilities and expressions of various materials in order to tell a story.

01.03.16 Architechture | The students had to work with labyrinths. They had to develop and challenge - with various obstructions - the radical spatial potentials of the labyrinth through narratives, space, concentration etc.

01.02.16 Exhibition at Four Boxes | The exhibition focuses on the photograph as document and the current interest in this tendency. The theme is examined through the work of six Danish artists who all work with photography, video and other camera-based art. The exhibition has been curated by Fotografisk Center in collaboration with art historian PhD Charlotte Præstegaard Schwartz.

01.12.15 | Exhibition from workshop week, critique and opening.
01.11.15 Graphic Design | On the occasion of the exhibitions 'Die Schönsten Schweizer Bücher' and '3 x 3 = 1296' af Nicolas Eigenheer & Vera Kaspar in FourBoxes we launched a poster competition to the students in graphic design.
01.11.15 Design | Design had two guest-teachers for a week - the artist Andreas Rasmussen og Morten Modin. They gave a workshop in aluminium-casting.
01.11.15 Architecture | The students were given the task of designing an extension to an existing house. The extension would be a studio for an artist and should be rooted in the artist's own works expression.

01.11.15 Photography | A couple of intense days with artificial light.The assignment was to use light to light up the evening and draw in the surroundings and to use the light to make the day darker and focus on the selected.
01.11.15 Art | The two visiting artists and guest teachers, Esben Gyldenløve og Astrid Sonne, had a sculpture workshop. The workshop stressed the importance of the social interaction by the way of working together in groups.
01.11.15 Photography | The water, dusk, clouds, trees, dawn, mist, cows, sun, moon og the human traces was observed, studied and documented.
01.11.15 Design | 32 very hard-working, experimenting and inspiring hands have been ripping up and knitting, folding and pressing, platting and twisting, padded and pleated, drawn through netting and stitched onto tulle, formed into volutes and rosettas and stitched and stitched and stitched to present 16 very fine examples of contemporary the kimono.
01.10.15 Art | Jonas Stampe, aka Snöleoparden and the balinese musician Futu, had the art class make their own “instruments”. By the use of electronics and contactt microphones, the sounds were amplified.
01.10.15 Photography | This is an assignment the photography students was given when they where introduced to our studio and equipment. And a view into how a week is. There is always a teacher present during the day so you can get help.

01.10.15 Architechture | The assignment was to build a minimal home in Skive. Without spending any money the students had to construct a place where they could sleep and seek shelter for the night.
Concrete and clothing
01.10.15 Design | 2 weeks an 2 themes, where working with one kind of materiale inspires working with the other and produces a relationshop. Focusing on material and their properties, on concepts of negative/positive, material/cutting, form/familiy. Weeks of a lot dust and stitches.
01.10.15 Graphic Design | We have been on yet another busy study trip to Amsterdam. It included visits to ten graphic design studios, we spend a morning in the Rietveld Academy and we did a field trip to Rotterdam.
01.10.15 Art | The study trip for the art class went to Paris this fall semester. The galleries we saw were a bit disappointing, but the big museums and other art spaces, had some really great shows.

01.09.15 Photography | This week the students were asked to explore the city of Skive and document their findings in photographs. As part of the assignment they had to meet and photograph a stranger.
01.09.15 Graphic Design | Designing an album cover is on one hand a very traditional assignment and on the other a chance to express oneself and the impressions you get from music.
01.09.15 Design | A display is a design, that exhibit an object - it highlights it, stage it, draws attention to it.
01.09.15 Architechture | The students have been working with the assignment of creating a construction in relation to the term ”community”.
01.09.15 art | In the workshop students have painted self-portraits. The task was that they could not be physically depicted in the painting.
Anna Fro Vodder: Growing Things
21.08.15-04.09.15 Four Boxes exhibition | Through the works on display Vodder examines the relationship between culture, in the sense of the artificial and inanimate, and its opposite, in the sense of the raw, the uncultivated, nature. Her pictures contain traces of actions and human expression; the painterly process and the movement of the hand.

25.06.15 Art | In the spring we traveled to Berlin to see and experience the art there. Berlin is one of the foremost centres of contemporary art in the world. We had a great stay there and saw atrocious in galleries, museums and other artspaces. We also had the opportunity to visit two danish artists saying there.

25.06.15 Design | RE F O R M is also seeking to include the next generation of formgivers and doing so by leading a workshop at Krabbesholm Højskole. The brief was to work within the realm of art and design and 18 pieces of furniture was presented at 3daysofdesign i Copenhagen.

21.06.15 Architecture | In this project the students have worked with sound as their primary point of departure. More specifically they have worked with sound in relation to the spaces to which it is always necessarily connected.

11.06.15 Photography | There is Alma, who drinks beers on the graveyard and dresses up in her grandmother’s fur. There is Laura, who is active in the Socialist Youth Front. There is Nicolai, who plays electric guitar in Hillsong Church on Sundays. And there is Magnus, who believes that a bike messenger has to be just as good at drinking as driving fast.

11.06.15 Graphic Design | The program included a total of six visits to graphic designers. Cobbenhagen Hendriksen, Mevis & Van Deursen, Bart de Baets, Experimental Jetset, David Bennewith ogTomáš Celizna.
11.06.15 Art | Filming a performance, making a documentary about something occupying their minds or look upon the videoformat as an unique way and language in which to express themselves through in other ways.
11.06.15 Art and Architecture | Interdisciplinary workshop. For a week the art students worked together with the architecture students on site- and place specific text works for Krabbesholm and the surrounding areas.

11.06.15 Architecture | In this assignment the task was to make different types of systems used for transport of water. Each project had to consider how we are influenced by water and come up with inventions discussing how we can deal with water.

11.06.15 Graphic Design | Your assignment this week will be to research your tool and develop a tool manual. Your manual may take the form of a POSTER / BOOK / MANUAL/ DRAWING / VIDEO / PERFORMANCE / GAME / INSTALLATION / OPERA.
23.05.15 Photography | Two weeks with two different guest teachers. The first week we had Thomas Thorgaard Iversen who has just finished an education at Fotografisk Kommunikation. We made the pretest to enter the entrance examination at that school.
12.05.15 Architecture | The students were given a place on the school that they should register. The observations had to be done In an independently chosen technique, and they should reveal if an intervention was necessary.

12.05.15 Design | One week of building scale models. The idea is to explore the relation between giving form and the material used. To let the material form the boundaries of giving form.

01.04.15 Design | Under this heading the designstudents were introduced to ideas of usercentered design by Joel Stein Pedersen og Matias Møllenbach, 2 students of design from Central St. Martin. The design students were given techniques for researching, observing as well as interviewing.
A Home for a bird
01.04.15 Architecture | The assignment was to investigate an existing building through diagrammatic drawings and sketch models.
01.04.15 Art | In the soundworkshop the students have worked with recorded sound from the school and its immediate surroundings.
01.03.15 Art | The artclass had a visit by the two guest teachers and students of the Royal Academy of Art, Sofie and Mateusz Nowak, students of the Royal Danish Academy of Art. They led the students through several assignments all concerning an expanded and perfomance-based definition of art.
01.03.15 Photography | A zine, an abbreviation of fanzine, or magazine, is a small self-published work, often photocopied and bound with staples. In order to explore the process from idea to publication and the interaction between photographs and text, the students were to produce a small zine under the theme ‘daily life’.
01.03.15 Architecture | In this assignment the students were asked to make an architectural installation for an outdoor area in a resident for people with autism.

01.03.15 Graphic Design | The posters above are the result of a collaboration between Glass Museum Ebeltoft and Krabbesholm Højskole. For the exhibition DG15 - Danish contemporary glass through 40 years students have proposed these posters to the museum.

01.03.15 Design | We have been working with sculptural clothing, with the flat white fabric which by means of thread, string, rouleaus, crinkled seams, drawstring hems, perforations have been given form.

01.02.15 Graphic Design | The Yellow Crocodile is today's visual commentary on a political headline. It marks an active position - a necessity if you want to train your ability to communicate visually.

01.12.14 Photography | Two former students, Thomas Thorgaard Iversen and Theis Spillemose Bothmann, who are the first generation of graduates from Photographic Communication at the Danish School of Media and Journalism, visited once again as guest teachers.
01.12.14 Art | This week the art students have been working at the printing workshop. By the artist Anne Marie Frank the students were introduced to different printing techniques such as linocuts, drypoint and xero lithography.
FSC Award 2014
01.12.14 Design | Again this year Krabbesholm took part in the FSC Award. The award focuses on the use of sustainable produced wood and design schools throughout the country are invited to participate in the competition.
The Krabbesholm Alphabet
01.12.14 Graphic Design | Is it possible to capture the complexity, spirit and ever-changing atmosphere of a site into (typo-) graphical shapes? During the week-long workshop the participants will be asked to identify and research themes related to the school and draw the Krabbesholm alphabet.
01.12.14 Architecture | For this assignment the students had the artist Jacob Dahl Jürgensen as guest teacher. They worked with sculpture as a wide concept with special focus on the relation to the body and on the object (sculpture) in it self.

01.12.14 Photography | The students had to work in groups to produce a picture, where they had 100% control of the light, and every aspect of the photo should be planned and tested.

The titel of the show was “Make-over” and had as its starting point a “painting” which the students had to change by adding paint, deconstructing the painting or one by mixing the painting into some pizzas.

Studytrip to Lausanne and Zurich
01.10.14 Graphic Design | This Autumn we went to Switserland. A new choice of destination. The highlights were a visit to the famous art school ECAL, studio visits to NORM, Afrika and Bon-bon and several visits to museums.
01.10.14 Architecture | From a still frame of a corridor, the assignment was to imagine the surrounding space, how the spacial sequence and light accurs according to the clue the picture reveals.
01.10.14 Design | Concrete is a construction material made of cement, stone and sand. Contrete does not dry, it hardens. It is of good use for construction as well as for making form being cheap and durable. It can also easily be coloured and given texture and structure.

01.09.14 Graphic Design | In working with silkscreen irregularities and small mistakes become gifts helping to create an aesthetic alternative to those provided by the computer. It is an opportunity to test your patience with hands covered in paint.
01.09.14 Design | Working with slats of plywood - lamellas - that are to be processed and composed to become a final product. Ideas, sketches, models, full-scale models, finished products, presentations - all in one week.
The elementary house
01.09.14 Architecture | Through an analysis of existing works, the students should seek out "typical" architectonic elements. The found elements should be incorporated into the design of a house.

16.12.13 design | This is how the press release came out after this years FSC-competition, that is held every year amongst the schools of design and architecture in Denmark. This year Krabbesholm student, Adam Holst Hoffbeck, won the competition with a hanging wardrobe and among the 9 runner-ups was also another 4 of our students with the design of a bicycle carrier by Amalie Zahle, Karoline Heide Christensen, Vi Khan Thi Dang and Julie Park Hughes.

23.06.13 Photography | This spring the photography class made the exhibition ’Five and a Half Hours’ at VESS Gallery on Vesterbro in Copenhagen. The students exhibited both images from own projects and assignments and also showed the common project ’Focal’ – a magazine photographed and layouted by the students.
23.06.13 Art | This project was about video. Before the assignment was handed out, the students were asked to make two lists; one with things that they like, and one with things that they don't like.

23.06.13 Graphic Design | Students from graphic design at Krabbesholm Højskole shows here, with inspiration taken from the album Tales of Nørrebro their version of a Nørrebro-map identifying the locations present within the concept of the album.
23.06.13 Design | Furniture textile rarely stands alone but are usually seen in context with other elements. The construction is therefore an important part of the expression of a textile product and may be exactly what expresses the particular quailty of the textile.

19.03.13 Photography | Photography has the ability to give meaning to otherwise insignificant objects and change the way we see them. Through working with scale, background, light and composition daily day objects can transform.
19.03.13 Design | Designproducts are often presented in "families" as part of series. Think of dinnerware, clothes collections or brands of cars. They have an overall idea that comes forth differently in the individual pieces.
19.03.13 Art | For this project the students were asked to use only text, words or alphabetical signs as both material and subject matter in the artistic expression. The choice of medium was free. The text had to be found, and could, for instance, be a quote from a film, a poem or an extract from a letter. What was important was that the text meant something for the individual student, and that the choice of medium made sense in relation to the text.

19.03.13 Photography | A series of pictures can work together in many different ways, it can be a colourtone, the story, lightning, the look, concept, it doesn`t have to have a logic connection, the pictures can supply each other with moods and so on, something has to bind them together.
19.03.13 Design | In the beginning of March we took a deep dive into the sea. The occasion was partying, so all sails and 350 m of fibertex were set. Loads of work paid off and made a magnificent party.

07.12.12 Design | Paper dress-forms, made directly on the body out of brown paper tape (the kind that came before brown duct tape) was the starting point for a week, where paper was a key-material.
07.12.12 Architecture | The assignment was divided into two phases. Phase 1 was a building analyze task and Phase 2 was a task where the students were to create their own model with the part element from Phase 1.

20.03.12 Design | Seating furniture from prefabricated materials from the local hardware stores in Skive. The students was allowed to use any materials available in a hardware store. Besides the ”raw” materials no styling was allowed; no paint, no ornamentation.
A poly religious room
20.03.12 Architecture | In this project, the students were assigned to create a poly religious room that could be used for service, meditation etc. A sort of sanctuary for people of different faith to practice their religion. Natural light were to be taken in to consideration and a specific location was set.
When the physical starts as something invisible
20.03.12 Photography | Based on the radio-montage Hestene Sover, from Thirdear.dk, themes as 'infinite', 'spiritualism' and Duane Michals narrative stories, the photography students worked for the very first time with 135 mm film negatives, developing tanks, chemistry and enlargements in the analog darkroom.

20.03.12 Graphic Design | Inspired by a set of 10 rules the nun and artist Sister Corita used in her teaching at the Immaculate Heart College Art Department in Los Angeles, every day a poster with the stencil technique had to be produced from a given sentence, word or letter.
