Start off with a piece of secondhand clothing.
Analyze the quality of the clothes and it particularities - what does it express? Who wore it - man, woman, age, status? What is the context - everyday, work,party, leisure- or sportswear?
Define the opposite of this person and the function of the clothes.
Research the opposite and design the garment into a transformed version of the person and function.
