mischer’traxler, the weather project

The Austrian designduo mischer'traxler came to visit us with a workshop on weather. Weather has a big impact on humans. The way we dress, the way we build, the way we eat and feel etc. is strongly related to the weather and climate conditions. We even tend to talk about the weather all the time. Since the weather has such a great impact, the focus of this workshop is on the weather and how it can be used within creative processes.
Various weather conditions will form the starting point for projects, sun, rain, fog, snow and by researching these conditions the students find the essence within these elements. How can the conditions be used, abused, ignored, doubled….?
Projects came to deal with splash-colouring of clothes, lamps like clouds, frozen statements to defrost on warm skin, winter-pavillions, the poetry of an umbrella-puddle, formed light and shadow, energy-absorption, wind-drawings, notions of fog or smoke, wind-ornaments as well as moldable seating, - all presented in small table-top exhibitions.
