UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE
Upholstery is usually associated with grandpa's comfy chair in the corner of the livingrom, but is being renewed these years. From being discarded by the functionalists, designers of today rediscover the possibilities for clothing the furniture by using drapingtecniques and new ways of cutting up material mostly known from tailoring and a feminine fashionuniverse.
Anna Gulmann asked the students to upholster an already existing chair. The upholstery were to give the chair a new function, a new design, a new life.
Photos from the proces of remaking the chairs into new pieces of "upholstered" furniture. See the finished chair under KBH Kunsthal.
