48 pics MONUMENTWhat do we mean by a Monument? “Monuments typically refer to a building or sculpture that has a symbolic value for society – commemorating an important historical event, or perhaps to display the power or prominence of a society. Often associated with an iconic style of design, monuments have a value above and beyond the objects and structures of our everyday environment.” A challenging and very interesting workshop displaying monuments in totally new and even non physical ways. Monuments as photography, video, graphic, sound, traces and performances etc. An exhibition was held on the final day of the workshop at the Four Boxes Gallery. Workshop with London based artists from Goldsmiths Art and Design: Sebastian Lloyd Rees, Ali Eisa, Ryan Murray & Paul Crook. |
