ADMISSIONS FOR ART ACADEMYS (RUNE BOSSE / DET KONGELIGE DANSKE KUNSTAKADEMI)

Every spring a part of the students from the art course use their stay at Krabbesholm Højskole to prepare their application for various educational institutions. For art students these are primarily art colleges and to some extent also design schools and schools of architecture. This year students have been accepted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, The Jutland Art Academy, Goldsmiths in London, Central Saint Martins in London and the two Danish design schools in Copenhagen and Kolding.
During a stay at Krabbesholm Højskole the students get to grow and mature, and in addition they gain much more knowledge about contemporary art than they had previous to their stay at Krabbesholm. Every year one is amazed at how much can be achieved in a few months. The daily tuition, the many Danish and foreign guest teachers, and last but not least, the support and energy among the students are all part and parcel of the experience.
Virtually no one enters the art and design schools without a thorough preparation under the guidance of professional teachers. At the national and international art academies you seek acceptance through your own work or documentation of own work. The number of pieces vary slightly - in Denmark, it is usually five works. There is no entrance examination to these academies but often an interview where you tell about yourself and your work. However, it is primarily the works that determine whether you are accepted or not.
